In 2005, adidas followed up the original adidas F50 football boots with the F50+ range. The improvements to the adidas F50 included a more user friendly lacing system, and a more durable Engineered Mesh providing a distinctive design to the boot.

The innovative new TPU cage was designed to improve stability and durability, drawing inspiration from similar patterns in architecture that use cables and grids. For the adidas F50+ football boots, the cage provided a minimal way of creating flexible, lightweight and great fitting support for the players.

A mixed material upper was once again utilised for the adidas F50+ football boots, combining a high abrasion textile with a kangaroo leather lace-cover. The synthetic textile material offered a sock-like fit with low water absorption, whilst the innovative lace-cover increased the kicking area and provided optimal ball feel and touch.
