Nike is now ready to present chapter 4, in the legend of Cristiano Ronaldo - with the latest signature boot. With the phrase “Forged for greatness”, this chapter celebrates Ronaldo’s time at Manchester United from 2003-2009. On the 12th August 2003 the 18 year old Cristiano Ronaldo arrived in Manchester as the newest Red Devil.
 
With an expectation to play in the number 28 shirt, just as he had done at his previous club. But the legendary manager, Sir Alex Ferguson had other ideas. Ferguson wanted Ronaldo to play in number 7, which surprised Ronald as he was well aware of the great players that had previously worn number 7. Any doubt was quickly put to rest, as Cristiano Ronaldo quickly proved himself worthy of wearing number 7.
 
Ronaldo often describes the 5 years as a Red Devil, as the years where he truly mastered the art of the beautiful game. Not only did his technical abilities improve, his physical abilities were greatly improved. No wonder, Ronaldo was one of the key factors in Manchester United's success in those years. The club won the Premier League three times, the UEFA Champions League, the FA Cup, the English League Cup, the english Super Cup twice, and finally the FIFA Club World Cup. Cristiano Ronaldo himself, earned the UEFA Best Player in Europe 2008, FIFA Ballon d’Or 2008, UEFA Champions League Player of the Year 2007/2008, English Footballer of the Year 2007 and 2008, as well as UEFA Champions League Topscorer 2007/2007 with 8 goals and topscorer in Premier League 2007/2008 with 31 goals.
 
These remarkable years, where Cristiano Ronaldo transformed himself, is the inspiration for the 4th of 7 chapters. The gradient design; going from red to orange, ending in metallic tones reflects the forging of the metal. This is beyond a tribute to the player Cristiano Ronaldo, but also a tribute to the city of Manchester. The CR7 logo on the inside of the boot, is subdued - with the number 7 being highlighted. This is to mark his transformation, becoming the CR7 we know today. Likewise on the outer heel cap, the roman numerals XXVIII are printed - meaning 28. but the VII is highlighted, also to show his journey from being number 28 to becoming the legendary number 7.
